He was admitted to the School of specialisation of Plastic Surgery
   
  Dal 1981 al 2002 
He conducted his professional practice specialising in Plastic Surgery at the Alma Mater Clinic in La Spezia.
During this time he continued to work in Thoracic and Plastic Surgery, regularly frequenting institutes in other countries such as the Cardio Vascular and Thoracic Surgical Unit in Marseilles (France 1990), the Hospital Das Clinicas of the University of S. Paolo (Brasil 1992), the Planas Clinica Planas in Barcellona (Spain 1993-1996-2000) and attending international conferences as a speaker.
 
  May 1988 
He organised the Congress “News in breast cancer diagnosis, treatment and reconstruction ” and participated as a speaker at the Congress. He continues to participate in other congresses such as “Current Problems in Breast Cancer” – Vienna 1989).
   
  Since May 1984 
He is an active member of the G.A.S.A.P.E. (Open Studio Paraoral Enteral Nutrition ) now known as S.I.N.P.E.
He attends the Surgical Clinic in Pisa, the department of Thoracic Surgery at the University of Modena and the Plastic Surgery division directed by Dr. A. Massei of the S. Chiara Hospital in Pisa, participating actively in various operations of post- mastectomy reconstructive breast surgery. This allowed him to give his scientific contribution to the 1° Surgical Div. of the Hospital in La Spezia for the realisation of breast reconstruction through radical mastectomy. This experience furthermore, enhances his participation in the various refresher courses (such as the 1° National theory-practice course on “Skin expansion ” at the University of Milan ) and Congresses (such as the 24° World Congress of the I.C.S.)

He is a member of “INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE OF SURGEONS”
 
  Since May 1983 
He is in charge of the Enterostomy Rehabilitation Centre affiliated to AISTOM.
  
  1989 
He completed the national Head of General and Thoracic Surgery exam achieving a 90/100 and 94/100 result respectively.
He continued, furthermore to enrich his experience in N.P.T. and application techniques of venous catheterization, actively participating in Congresses and giving numerous talks about experimental N.P.T. and other subjects

He worked in the department of General Surgery of the National Health Unit n°5 in La Spezia

Admitted to the School of Specialisation in Thoracic Surgery at the University of Modena directed by Prof. R. Lodi, where in 1986 he received the specialisation diploma with a 70/70 result.
    
  1981 
He completed the Specialisation in General Surgery with a result of 69/70, discussing in his thesis “Diverticulum of the esophagus”.
    
  1976 
He was accepted to complete his six month practical training at the Surgical Clinic of the same University and after attended the School of Specialisation in General Surgery directed by Prof. Selli.
During these years he participated in various conferences and refresher courses, taught (courses of undergraduate practice for students enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine) and published articles in Italian and foreign magazines.
He committed also to the application of N.P.T. (Total Paraoral Nutrition).

Completed degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Pisa.
